Mary Gavan Yarns is nestled amongst the red rocks of northern Arizona where her yarn is hand-dyed in small batches. Mary's love of art began at a very early age and after majoring in fine arts at Arizona State university, she found her passion in textiles and began weaving. When Mary couldn't find the colors she wanted, she began dyeing on her own. Her yarns feature vibrant, rich colors and unique fiber content.
On March 28, Purl in the Pines is excited to host a Mary Gavan Yarns Trunk Show! Mary will bring lots of yarn and garments to touch and try on ... including Canyon, Quail, the Hoodoo line (pictured above) and Sea (pictured below). Hoodoo is a plied superwash merino in four weights and 22 colors.
Sea is a rayon/linen fingering weight blend dyed in all the same colors.
Because fibers take up the dye differently, the Sea and Hoodoo will look like 2 different colors! So cool!
